The Friends of Hammonasset recently received a $2000 grant from the Loeb Foundation for the purchase of a replacement Meigs Point Nature Center Sign in front of the old Nature Center at Hammonasset Beach State Park. The old sign has been weather damaged over the years necessitating its replacement.
The Loeb Foundation is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to benefit wildlife and domestic animals, and operated exclusively for charitable, educational and literary purposes, more particularly for the purpose of promoting the well-being and kind and humane treatment of domestic animals and wildlife, and of disseminating knowledge to that end.
The Friends of Hammonasset is sincerely appreciative of this generous grant which will assist in our continuing efforts to provide public education concerning our environmental and animal programs at the Nature Center.
