If you are one of the millions who love our Park, join us.
Run entirely by volunteers, Friends of Hammonasset (FOH) welcomes your talents, skills, time and passion to help preserve and promote Hammonasset Beach State Park and all it has to offer. As a “not for profit” 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, Friends of Hammonasset works in cooperation with State and local Park Management and the Friends of Connecticut State Parks.
What we do.
The purpose of Friends of Hammonasset is to:
- Provide environmental education.
- Preserve the integrity of the park’s natural resources.
- Serve as an advocate for the Park.
How we do it.
Relying solely on membership fees and donations, Friends of Hammonasset accomplishes our goals through education, advocacy, and engagement.
Monetary donations from Friends of Hammonasset also allow Meigs Point Nature Center staff and volunteers to purchase small but essential supplies such as animal food, educational materials, and craft supplies. FOH also works with private companies and non-profit groups for donations of larger equipment.
How you can get involved.
