Keeping Hammonasset Clean and Pet-Friendly
The Friends of Hammonasset are proud to support the Mutt Mitt Program, helping to keep Hammonasset Beach State Park clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors—both two- and four-legged! Through this program, we provide convenient pet waste stations stocked with biodegradable Mutt Mitts along park trails and common areas.
These stations encourage responsible pet ownership and help protect our beaches, marshes, and wildlife from harmful bacteria and pollution. The program is funded and maintained through donations and volunteer efforts, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a cleaner, healthier environment.
By using a Mutt Mitt and properly disposing of pet waste, you’re doing your part to preserve the natural beauty of Hammonasset for generations to come.
Help keep our park paws-itively pristine—please use the Mutt Mitts and consider donating to support this ongoing effort!
