Hammonasset Day will be Saturday, October 1, 2022. This celebration honors the environment and Native American cultures.  We welcome volunteers to help with the planning throughout the year, as well as volunteers to help at the event.  Contact: info@hammonasset.org

Friends of Hammonasset Plant Sale

Friends of Hammonasset’s biggest fundraisers, our May/June Plant Sale and September/October Mum and Pumpkin Sale, attract hundreds of plant and garden lovers each year. Volunteers are needed to assist customers and carry and maintain the plants during the sale. Shifts are available to meet any schedule.

With so many park events, there are unlimited opportunities to promote what’s happening at Hammonasset. The Friends are always in need of photography lovers whose photos can be used for publicity purposes and for our website.

Friends of Hammonasset needs publicity and media talent who can spread the word in newspapers and magazines, on TV and radio shows, and on electronic or social media sites. If you’d like to help, we would love to speak with you.

This critical function is key to securing new funding opportunities. Those experienced in grant and proposal writing are welcomed.

For a non-profit like Friends of Hammonasset, fundraising takes on many different forms, from plant sales to meet-and-greets. We are always looking for Friends who can help us develop new fundraising strategies and ideas.

You can make a difference by helping Friends of Hammonasset influence legislation that supports the betterment of the Park and the environment in general.
